Stäubli MC4 connectors are single-contact electrical connectors and are now the standard on the solar market and have been used since 2011 used in almost all solar modules.

MC in MC4 stands for Multi-Contact, now known as Stäubli Electrical Connectors. The 4 represents the 4 mm diameter of the contact pin. The convenience of MC4 connectors lies in their manual coupling. This is very easy thanks to the snap-in lock design, meaning an integrated connector. It is ideal for connecting solar panels in a series.
